I have been wanting an economy 25-06 to use for deer & varmints. I was wondering if anyone has any comments on the N.E.F. or H&R Handi Rifle. They seem to be the most economical rifle that I have seen. Thanks for any input and you all have a great 2005 Gary H.
I have two "built" rifles in .25-06. Both cost me about $500.00 and shoot 1/4 inch at 100 yards. I've never shot either of the two rifles you mention, sorry. But, I have a lot of .25-06 miles on my trigger finger. How well do you know the .25-06?
I have friends that have the Handy Rifle in .223 and love them. I personally would go with a T/C if I was to buy a single shot, they are consideraly more expensive, alot of thet the handy rifles have been sold, give one a try.
Its not true that blondes have more fun, it's just that they have such a short attention span, everything seems new and exciting!
That 25-06 is sure a good round, I know a few guys that shoot it and they love it, and for the crackdown rifle , I think that this gun is getting to be pretty popular, the guys that I know that shoot them wouldn't get rid of them , if it fits ya and ya like it get it ..
I have heard a few people, mostly on the internet, say that they have had various problems with the NEF Handi-Rifles, and I have no reason to doubt them...... But then too, I believe there are a few people who judge things as much by what they paid for it as what it is actually capable of, and often tend to "look down their noses" at a rifle that sells for under 250 bucks NIB... I know a number of people around here who own them (some who own several) in calibers rangeing from .204 to .45-70, and all are more than pleased with them... In fact, because of what these people have told me about them, and what I've personally witnessed myself as to their accuracy, I went and bought one myself in .280, about 4 or 5 years ago, and so far, my son has taken 2 or 3 deer with it.......... Personally, I tend to agree with "gun writer" Mike Venturino, when he said, "There are cheap rifles and there are inexpencive rifles... The Handi-Rifle is an inexpencive rifle."
Seems to me that "Time" is merely an artificial concept, created by man, with which to hassel himself.
