Hey ya'll, I am new here and to say that I am hooked on Smoke is a understatement. Till a few years ago it would be nothing for me to burn up 30# a year and that was not playing with the big boy's. I could have played with one that took 4 to 6 oz a pop ;D. Yes alot of it was just shooting Yanks and some NSSA shoots but I did do alot of range work and love to hunt with the smoke pole. Right now I use a Rep Enfield Muskatoon to shot Yanks, a Rep Cook & Brother Carbien for the NSSA shoots and a CVA Missouri .54 cal. I did put a muskit nippel on the CVA and I use a Union Minie Ball ( 525 gr in .58 and 410 Gr in the .54) Goex and Elefant works just as good for me. I also use some Rep Reb Colt 1851 Navy .44, Rep Colt 1851 Navy .36, Rep Colt Pocket 1851 .36. Mommy uses a CVA .50 Hawkens patch round ball to hunt with. My boy got started on the wrong foot, he killed 2 bucks this year with a .54 cal CVA in-line but now that the smoke is in his blood I hope to bring him around to the good life. BTW his first deer was a 128" 10 point. So glad to see a sight like this, look forward to spending some good time here.

;D I've been away from this site for a while. So, I guess this is the right place for me to be! I just got back from a job of escorting and protecting some British soldiers and a Swiss Col. Henry Bouquet. They needed to get from Ft Ligonier to fortify what is now Ft Pitt. We were set upon by savages at a small clearing called Bushy Run about a good 2 days east of the fort.

*A hunter never apologizes to his prey;He just thanks it for the contest. *I started hunting when I was a youngster. YES, I saw "Bambi", but I got over it. Those who can- Do; Those who can't- Talk about it!
