What do you guys prefer, 2 or 3 bladed heads. Some feel that 2 blades penetrate better, but I think that the extra cutting diameter (3 blades as opposed to 2) provide more trama/hemmorage, and a better trail. Don't get me wrong, I have both. I shoot 2 bladed Magnus, as well as Snuffers. This year I got my first pass through using a Snuffer, Deer went 70yds. The other day, I blew a shot, and hit the shoulder. 3 inches of penetration. I've hit the shoulder with the Magnus, and never penetrated.

There is added resistance the more blades a broadhead has. The most important thing still is shot placement. I shoot 130 grain 4 blade Muzzys in both my compound and also my recurve and haven't had problems when I do my part.

I use the Magnus Stinger 4 blade head - 100 grain. Basically it is a two blade head with tiny "bleeder" blades. I think this kind of head gives me the best of both worlds. Basically a two blade head for excellent penetration but two small bleeder blades that will hardly impead the penetration of the arrow and yet will not alow the wound to flap over and inhibit bleeding. I also like the fact that the heads are unconditionally guaranteed for your lifetime!

This Is a debate that has no right or wrong answer. With my Black Widow SAIII (69lbs.@31" with an Easton XX75 2419 shaft cut to 31.75" , and a 125 grain three blade Snuffer at 196 f.p.s.)I can shoot completely through a 4" thick telephone book at 20 yards. (The head protrudes the off side about .75") Obviously with my setup this is plenty of penetration! A two blade head would probably penetrate further but I feel that for White Tails this is more than enough. I guess the point to my example is that I am satisfied with my choice of broadhead. That's the bottom line, being satisfied and confident in your setup!! FLATPICKER
I read an article in bowhunter magazine which went over which broadheads produced the best penetration and which produces more force speed or weight of the arrow.
But I do remember that although the 2 blade has a better average penetration of about .33 of an inch the three blade's tissue damage is twice as much as the 2 blade even with .33 of an inch less penetration.
So the 2 blade penetrates better but not much. Even though you are getting less penetration you are getting more tissue damage.
I don't like 2 blade, I just see them as being hard to tune for good arrow flight and don't produce enough damage for me

just new here, but , if i may, i'll chuck my thoughts in the ring. In my experience two blades will out-penetrate 3 or even a 2 with bleeders. Now, having said that....most modern type 'curves and longbows will blow an arrow right into both lungs and even likely a passthru.....so on deer sized NA game...Id go with whatever head flies best for me. Although relatively easy to kill, i dont like 2 blade bh's on bear especially. I find the fat, heavy coat will tend to plug up around the shaft (assumming you dont get a pass) thereby making the blood trail a little harder to find/follow. a two blade hole is like a slit whereas a 3 blade it just doesnt seem to plug up as bad, at least in my experience
so, i think if u are shooting light poundage, light arrow weight, or maybe even a self bow....Id go with a two blade in most instances.
But most modern bows, with medium draw weight.....its shooters choice imo.....
