I'am just looking for a good ball park price. Would you pay more if done buy one of the best? Then I guess that depends on the class of the deer you killed. I took a prety good buck this last season and took him to a guy thats supose to be one of the best. Well he charged me $375.00 for a shoulder mount. I sure hope it comes back looking real good ,kinda like he looked in the woods just before I shot him. How much do, and would ya'll pay for a good whitetail mount?

Hey TX, that's a Tn deer. That's the deer that he's having mounted right now. I haven't seen it in person yet, but he sent me some pics of it and it's got some really good mass and some width too. I'm guessing he'll score around high 130's to low 140's.
When he gets the mount back I'll make sure he posts the pics of it. Don't forget BowHunter we all want to see what he looks like on the wall. Right next to the other one. I know Monica is just gonna be happy to have another one on the wall huh!
"Shoot a Mathews LX and you'll never want another bow!!!"
Thank's TX he was a good deer and I will post pics as soon as I get him back. In about two week he said. And yes Deerstalker Monica said she will be happy to have another head on the OUTSIDE WALL FACING THE STREET You and I both know that wont happen.

The best guy around here also is the cheapest. Goes to show that the saying "you get what you pay for" isn't always true. He did my mount for $310 where as most other guys around here charge 375-450 and don't do half as good of a job.
Some may calll me an idiot, and that may be true, but who cares?

I think my buddy is up to about $450 right now. He is one of the best around. I have had friends take their deer to others because of the cheaper price and some where happy and some were down right made!!
I have one mounted here from 1995 and one from 2001. If you didn't know, you can't tell which was done 10 years ago. That is what makes a good taxidermist. I think I could get one to look good straight out of the shop (I have watched him do 300 or so of them), but what they look like down the road is what counts. IMO.
