I live in Oakwood oh, by Paulding, and I went dove hunting for the first time. I have done many other hunts, but have to say this was one of the best times in my life. I hooked for life( by the way i used a Remington 870 Express LH, it rocks). What's the best type of feild to hunt dove?

Sunflower, milo, or a field that has just had wheat scattered on it for agricultural reasons (the best IMO, but hard to come by, and make sure it's not baiting.) Tanks in the evening are good too, especially if they have a dead tree near by.
"When a hunter is in a tree stand with high moral values and with the proper hunting ethics and richer for the experience, that hunter is 20 feet closer to God." Fred Bear
I'm new to hunting, and dove is the main thing I've experienced so far. I agree, it is a total blast! The times that I've gone have been in sunflower fields. I never got even close to my limit, but it was still a blast. What I've been told is that milo and wheat are good.

That is great great little gun for her TX. I have the 11-87 20 gauge and it is a blast to shoot on clay birds. It is really amazing how far out those 20 gauges reach and still do damage. Like shooting trap from the 27 yard line, Improved Mod. Choke and breaking birds in many pieces. Just think that is a regular 1185 speed, 7/8 ounce 7.5 shot, trap load.
"Find the bird, Tony." Your birddog is only as good a buddy as you make it. Make it your buddy everyday, take it for a run. Watching a good birddog work, is like watching poetry in motion.
Hey Bob, remember that quick little 870 20 guage I was telling you about? She would be shooting that. She gets the joy of shooting it, and I get the joy of cleaning it.
Now is that a heck of a deal? You'll hear no complaints from me! But really, it is a sweet gun. I love it. I've helped him clean it, but I am still new to everything and learning so yeah, he takes care of that stuff mostly. For now anyway
