There was a previous thread on reloading 75 gr. Hornady V-Max in 25-06 and this is similiar. I was wondering if anyone out there has used either H-4831, or H-4350 to load 75 gr. Hornady V-Max in 25-06 and had any decent performance. Just trying to see if the powders I have will work, or have to go to a different powder. Thanks.
I have tried both of those powders in my 25-06 and got the best results with H-4350 . I don't load the Hornady bullets anymore , mostly just Barnes bullets ,but I load 75 , 90 ,and 115 gr bullets all with good results in a Ruger 77 Mark II . all those different weights might sound funny but I got them super cheap at auction and just bought them for target shooting .

This is a for what it's worth comment, but last spring I wanted to work up a new load for my 25-06 and decided to make a call to Hodgdons Tech department and visit with them about what powder they felt was the best choice for my 25-06. The techs didn't even hesitate, he said H-1000 without question!!! He then went on to explain that because of the large capacity and small neck of the case that H-1000 burns a ideal rate to make the best use out of the powder. I was very pleased when I changed to H-1000.
