I've got a Sony Mavica digital camera. It uses floppy disks. Do the disks get bad to the point of not being able to get decent pictures? I've just been noticing in the past couple of months the picture quality going down and disks that got to the point of not being able to reformat. I know I need to pick up some new floppies. Just wondering if that could be all that's wrong, or will I need to start camera shopping soon?

Bonnie,I have the same camera. If you delete a lot on the disc ,it seems to go bad. I feel after 2 sets of pictures,I will junk them and get new. I always get new if Im going on a trip. Also,I think extreme heat and cold can damage them too.

Your Welcom! Also I was thinking .. Is your camera set for "FINE" and if your pictures are dark,Check your "BRIGHTNESS " setting. I somtimes forget about that one. I like to use MGI photo suite to lighten the picture.
You must have the newer model, mines the MVD-FD100. I couldn't find a 'fine' setting here. I'm 'usually' pretty good about checking the 'white balance', if that would be my 'brightness' setting? I'm thinking it is the floppys just gone bad. Had them awhile and they've had plenty of temperature variations. Just checked on a memory stick for it. Not hearing to much good about them. And it says my max stick size is only 128MB anyway (i'm feeling like a dinosaur *LOL*). So I'll get stocked up on more floppys I guess
