Hello to all, this is a very good forum , I am from pakistan and new to hunting, i recently purchased a new BAIKAL 27EM, o/u shotgun, it has 28 inch barrels, double trigger with ejectors, it has no extra chokes, i think it has fixed chokes, some numbers are printed on one side of the gun like this, F (1.0) M (0.5) 12x70 65MPA some of my experienced hunter friends say that i cant hunt partridge, ducks and other birds good with a fixed choked gun, i am too much sad by hearing such type of comments, so i want to know are they true, also pls tell me that it is not possible to use extra chokes in my gun.

OK first welcome to the forum
You can hunt partridge, ducks and other birds with fixed chokes.
You have a Modified and Full choke on your O/U. That is fine to hunt birds out to 40 yards with the right loads.
I looked up your gun and their is 2 with that model number one with fixed chokes and one with multi chokes meaning screw in. You obviously have the fixed which will work fine once you find a good load that patterns well with your gun.
One thought is to have your gun modified for screw in chokes which usually runs less than $200.00 in the states here.

If you can get it to a gunsmith they can open the full choke barrel with a reamer. The modified is fine as a second shot on most upland birds and 1st shot on ducks. If it were me I would talk it over with the gunsmith and have it opened to what you want to hunt the most. If your prime interest is Ducks, Then leave it the way it is you have the best chokes now for that,
