That's a nice buck (I didn't get either, buck or doe, this year.. .....)!...I like to saltwater fish too....been at it yet?..I went down a week ago or so(to the Gulf---I'm in Alabama)...and it was some boogery weather...didn't catch anything but a few Spanish mackeral..
Ah well.... That's a good pic...and thanx for sharing! ;D
Great pic. That buck looks real healthy, well, 'cept for being dead. I guess I should say he looks like he's in good shape? hmm, okay good deer! Yeah, that's the ticket. That looks like duck heaven behind you. Is that where you hunt waterfowl too? Details man! We need details. What's the story on the buck kill? Thanks for posting the pic!
First I want to appologize for the size of that picture... I thought I grabbed the one I had reduced but after it posted I realized I grabbed the wrong one. When I get home tonight I'll fix that ... I hunt in lower Delaware, right on the Assawoman Bay. To the right of that picture is the salt marsh and beyond the bay. That's a little inlet off the bay.... good duck and goose hunting in there. If I were to have turned the picture 180º you could see the salt marsh and the duck blind I hunt from... All are handicapped accessable too ... which makes it real nice for me.
Anyway, that buck weighed in at 151 lbs and was estimated at 2 years old. The rack isn't much but he did eat real good ... .... I was in an electrically (battery) operated lift stand and shot this one at (according to my handy-dandy laser range finder) 99 yards. One shot ... one Kill ... Carlos Hathcock would have been proud of that shot ... I live in a shotgun only State so I was using my Remington 870 Deer Slayer with a 2X Simmons shotgun scope and Remington Korelok sabot slugs...
For some reason, the deer where I hunt don't have BIG racks but they do have massive bodies. I've shot 140 pound does to 200 lb bucks but that is the first one with both antlers.... I got one that would have been real nice a couple years ago but it only had one side to his antlers... Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes ...
